Team Coaching
Team coaching differs from team development in that it typically includes much less content. I work with the team in the role as a process facilitator, beginning with an introductory session, during which they will co-create a common understating of how the team works and what they would like to improve. The team will also gain an understanding of how I will work with them in future sessions. Purpose for the work will often include improving decision making, problem solving and inclusion, building improved relationships and team working.
Teams then continue their usual meetings and other activities, joined by me in the process facilitator role, I will occasionally intervene in the meetings to encourage everyone involved to raise their awareness, in the moment, of the dynamics playing out in the team and how that impacts on their work, with their agreed purpose in mind. At the end of each meeting I will also lead a review of how the team worked during the meeting.
At agreed intervals I run a dedicated session to review progress and agree next steps, including a close down meeting to hand over the work to the team who will then have gained the skills to be their own process facilitators.
Team coaching requires a significant level of trust and commitment from the team, which is often rewarded by truly transformational experiences, significantly improving performance and inclusion, which team members take into future teams. Often therefore team coaching suits senior teams with skilled leaders and can also sit alongside some leadership development activities as part of an integrated development approach. .

Team Development
Team development is at the heart of what I do, integrating psychology and group dynamics with inclusion of diversity and creative techniques.
I design programmes to help teams to gain concrete skills and create environments which are experiential, emotionally aware, and innovative. I embed activities in their organisational business context.
During the programmes, teams step to discomfort in a safe environment to try something different, enabling teams to transform themselves and their work.
Each team development programme is created specifically for the team I am working with. The programmes include experiential activities to enable leaders and teams to embody the transformation and apply it to their every day work. Themes for team transformations I've completed in the past have included:

Team transformation process
While all development I do is created specifically for the team and organisation I am working with, I have a core team transformation model I base this work on. This is outlined in the image below with more detail in the file download.
