Intrinsic inclusion is ‘The act of integrating the differences of a group of people into conversations, decisions and team activities. These differences may include traditional diversity considerations such as gender, age, disability, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation and gender identity. However, they should also take into account the inherent differences of personality, performance strengths, opinions and approach which are a result of that diversity.’ (France 2018).
To achieve this, teams need leaders who appreciate the need for intrinsic inclusion and have the facilitation skills to enable this to happen.
